Gazi University Strategy Development Board consists of an odd number of members determined by the University. The chairman of the Board is the Rector. In his absence a Vice Rector, who is also a member of the board, determined by the rector acts as the chairman. Term of office for the board members is three years. Board members, who are appointed by the Senate, may be removed from office according to the same procedure applied in their appointment.
In order to ensure participation in the preparation of the Strategic Plan for the Term 2019-2023 "Gazi University Strategic Planning Commission" was abolished and replaced by "Gazi University Strategy Development Board" by the Senate's 20.07.2017 dated and 2017/105 numbered decision. At the same meeting "Circular on the Establishment and Operation of Gazi University Strategy Development Board" was accepted.
Strategy Development Board, which prepares, monitors and evaluates the strategic plan of the University under the chairmanship of the Rector and in cooperation with academic and administrative units, may form working groups within itself, whenever it needs, representing different units at a maximum level to take part in the strategic planning process. Working principles of these goups are determined by the Board. The Board is structured into small working groups to ensure effectiveness in the implementation of its duties and to maintain a healthy process management. The coordination between the Board and working groups is provided by The Strategy Development Department. The department appoints a secretary for each working group to take part in its studies. If needed, experts may be invited to Board meetings to be consulted.
